Introduction
Have you ever thought, "Uck!
Social studies. Please don't make me memorize those boring facts."
If you are one of those students, then you or your teacher are not taking
the right approach. As human beings we relate to other human beings.
If we can find some connection with them, we tend to become interested.
Let's explore the human side of war. Let's forget about the facts
and concentrate on the people. WW II was a brutal war, not just for
our soldiers but for all those involved. The Jewish community in
Europe lost 6 million people to
prejudice. Most of us do not even think about the Japanese-Americans
who were held prisoners in our own country. My question to you is,
"Who were all of the "people" of this war?" |
