Narrative poem assignment

• Must be at least twelve lines
• Must have a rhyme scheme  (Label the rhyme scheme on the right side of each line.)  A            A            A

          A            B            B

                      B          A            C        

                      B          B            B

• Must have one simile or metaphor  (Please underline in your poem)
• Must have at least one line of Alliteration (3 words in that line) Underline the beginning letter in each word.  Ex:  Peter Piper picked
• Must have one example of onomatopoeia

Ex.  Pop, crash, boom, buzz

 

EXTRA CREDIT

One example of personification  (label in the margin)

 

One line of assonance (at least three words)  Underline the vowel sound in each word.

 

REMEMBER:  You’re telling an experience that you have had in the past.  Express the emotions that you felt.  Mood is an important element of poetry.
