RESEARCH PAPER
We are now starting our research paper. This is the hardest unit of the year, mainly because there are so many parts. In order for us to be successful in our endeavor, we must be prepared. You must have a good topic to be successful in your research paper to keep both you and your readers interested.
There are many types of research papers that we could do. The type of research paper that we will be doing this year is an Argumentative/ Persuasive Research Paper. However, everybody needs a choice. I want you to decide your own topic. Please do the following steps.
1. Brainstorm a list of possible topics in which you are interested. Think about controversial categories such as political, environmental, economic, social, and moral issues to stimulate actual topic or ideas. Please list at least five specific controversial topics that you might be interested in discovering more about.
2. Take your five topics and
A. List reasons why you are personally interested in the topic.
B. List facts that you already know about the topic.
C. List specific questions you would like to learn about those topics.
(You must have all three steps completed on this second step for full credit)
3. Finally, narrow your focus and pick one topic that most interests you. Remember, I must see all steps completed for full credit.
