Introduction

In this WebQuest you will learn about your state, Missouri.  You will complete a state worksheet and a map quiz of your state.  You will also create a short PowerPoint presentation telling what you have learned and then present it to the class as an oral report. 
 



The Task

Your job is to access the Internet through Netscape Navigator.  You will gather information from web sites to fill out the map quiz and you will download a map of your state.  Inspiration will help you organize your information so that it can be made into a PowerPoint presentation.



The Process
 
 

1.  Go to the following web site.

USA State Map/Quiz Printouts
Follow the links to find the Map/Quiz Printout for the state of Missouri.  Print the Map/Quiz Printout and be sure to write your name at the top.  Use the information from the map to answer the questions.
 
 
2.  Go to the following web sites to find additional information about your state for the State Worksheet.  Use your own paper to take notes about the history of your state.  Write any interesting facts that you may want to include in your PowerPoint.
 
The US50 - A guide to the fifty states
This site has good information about the state's history and important people.  Click on the Information button for lots of facts.

Excellent list of facts.

Explore the States
This site has short descriptions of the states, and some interesting facts including the history of the state names. 
 

3.  Use Inspiration to organize your information.  Then make your PowerPoint presentation.
